Genesis Mission House

A School for Discipleship and Evangelisation, founded on the call to Holiness and Mission.

Share the Gospel

The Mission House

Genesis House Residential School of Discipleship is situated in Plymouth city centre.

Time spent at Genesis House has a twofold objective. Through a rigorous programme of spiritual and practical formation, pilgrims realise the power of the Gospel in their own lives, and explore their personal path to holiness and deeper discipleship, as well as learning how to respond to, seek and initiate opportunities to have potentially life changing conversations with others.

In short, first time pilgrims attending Genesis House undertake a four day initial programme to leave them inspired and spiritually strengthened for a purpose filled life of Mission, convicted that by the power of Christ resurrected, they are able to meet the inevitable challenges that will come their way.

Pilgrims learn the art of evangelising through prayer and action.

“I witnessed first-hand that hearts were changed. One woman in particular was grieving for her family, left behind abroad. She found our prayer with her strengthening, ‘I will never forget this experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to share God in this world.’”

Mission House Programme

First time pilgrims attending Genesis House undertake a four day initial programme to leave them inspired and spiritually strengthened for a purpose filled life of Mission, convicted that by the power of Christ resurrected, they are able to meet the inevitable challenges that will come their way.

A visit to Genesis House is designed for between two to seven persons. It usually takes place over a four day period, beginning on Thursday evening with departures after Mass on Sunday. This is felixible.

Personal attention is given to each pilgrim’s circumstance in order that their mission is explicit and realistic and that they go forth with a clear vision, strategy and the “how to” proceed.

Pilgrims learn the art of evangelising through prayer and action.

The programme includes:

  • Formation for the work of evangelising which includes an introduction to “The
    Genesis Model for Evangelising”
  • Learning the art of Soul Listening
  • Practical evangelising, on the streets using a variety of tools and resources.
  • Holy Mass
  • Holy Hour of Adoration with Guided Meditations
  • Opportunity for Life/General Confession and Spiritual Guidance
  • Introduction to “The Genesis Model for Personal Metanoia”.

It is a fervent prayer that Genesis mission House will, over time, unite an army of Catholic Christians who are honed to have a greater insight into the human person and how to open up the paths that can lead them to faith, thus participating in the very mission of Christ our Redeemer for the Salvation of souls.
